The tax collectors and prostitutes are entering the Kingdom before you. What does that say about who gets in?
Matthew 21:31
The moment
Jesus turns to the religious leaders: John came in the way of righteousness, and they didn't believe him, but the tax collectors and prostitutes did. Even when they saw it, they refused to repent.
Matthew 21:32
Where it points
This echoes Joseph, exalted from prison to feed the nations (Genesis 41:38-57). Jesus, too, was exalted, and He is the bread of life for the world (Philippians 2:9-11; John 6:35).
Genesis 41:38-57 · Philippians 2:9-11 · John 6:35
For today
Today, don't be like those who saw and still refused. Let the humble repentance of the outcasts teach you: turn and believe, for the Kingdom is open to you.
