What do you think? A man had two sons. He asked the first to work in his vineyard. But what would you do if the Father asked you?
The moment
Jesus tells of a father who comes to his first son, saying, 'Go work today in my vineyard.' The son says, 'I will not,' but later repents and goes. The father's call is patient, and the son's change of heart opens the door to obedience.
Where it points
This echoes the humble king of Deuteronomy, who was to write the law for himself and walk humbly among his brothers (Deuteronomy 17:18-20). Jesus, the true King, humbled Himself and became obedient to death (Philippians 2:8). He calls us to that same humility.
For today
Today, when God's call comes, don't let a quick 'no' be your final answer. Pause, repent, and say yes. He is the humble King who welcomes your change of heart.
